Production Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY
As a leader in Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology, BrightView Technologies designs and manufactures highly innovative MLA optical components. The Production Supervisor reports to the VP of Operations and has responsibility for managing the performance of the hourly manufacturing team operators on all shifts to attain company objectives. The Production Supervisor has a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, product types, raw material, and is a key contributor to the development and implementation of key manufacturing initiatives.  The Production Supervisor will be physically located in Durham, NC, and this position is not eligible for remote work due to the need for regular material oversight responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Direct the daily activities of the hourly manufacturing operators to achieve effective and efficient use of facilities, equipment, and labor while achieving cost, performance, quality, delivery, and safety objectives.
- Identify opportunities and implement improvements that help drive manufacturing excellence for the Company and develop capabilities as product moves from prototype to volume production.
- Participate in the implementation of Lean manufacturing practices and provide support for new, more efficient product introduction processes.
- Collect data and report on metrics relevant to manufacturing production activities including maintaining area visual factory boards and communication areas.
- Monitor and identify supply chain issues related to production and inform management in a timely fashion. Participate in cause and corrective action activities.
- Ensure production operator conformance to all safety and quality policies and initiatives.
- Provide input to the capacity and production planning activities.
- Monitor production operator performance, identify staffing needs, participate in conflict resolution, training, and employee career growth, and motivate employee achievement of Company objectives
- Maintain an environment of high performance, self-motivated employees that are committed and empowered to achieve corporate objectives.
- Participate in continuous improvement programs to enhance productivity, improve quality, reduce costs, and assure on-time delivery.
- Ensure production operator understanding of, and conformance to, quality system requirements.
- Participate in projects that focus on manufacturing improvements and cost reduction activities.
- Maintain operator competence requirements and a cross-training program to improve organizational flexibility.
- Interpret Engineering Drawings and interact with R&D, Marketing, and Sales related to fabrication of customer-requested product samples. Creation of sketches and/or drawings in support of manufacturing, as required.
- Support Sustainability Program initiatives.

EDUCATION  AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, 2-year degree desirable
- 7 – 10 years of experience in similar role with preference for experience in technology and manufacturing industries
- 3 - 5 years of directing or supervising the work of production associates desirable

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Proficient with MRP or other manufacturing planning systems. (i.e., Net Suite,  etc.)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and create sketches and drawings in support of production requirements.
- Able to create sketches and drawings with CAD/CAM software.
- Ability to act with integrity, respect, honesty, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

TOOLS / EQUIPMENT USED
- Office:  Personal computer, software programs, electronic mail, telephone, copier, fax
- Process:  equipment will vary according to the process but may include forklift, crane, hand tools, power tools, web rollers, pumps, cameras, lasers, etc.

Supply Chain Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY
As a leader in Micro Lens Array (MLA) , BrightView Technologies designs and manufactures highly innovative MLA optical components.  The Supply Chain Specialist II is responsible for materials management, inventory accuracy, logistics coordination, purchasing, and third-party relationships for BrightView Technologies.  A successful candidate must maintain strong relationships with customers and global third-party entities. The Supply Chain Specialist II will support achievement of Company financial, strategic, and operational objectives including revenue, gross margin, and delivery.  As a member of the Operations team, the Supply Specialist II will execute tactical materials management in support of long-term organizational strategic goals, maintain key customer and supplier relationships, identify improvement opportunities, support the negotiation and closure of business deals. The Supply Chain Specialist II is responsible for conforming to supply chain and material control requirements of BrightView’s ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality systems.  The Supply Chain Specialist II will be physically located in Durham, NC, and this position is not eligible for remote work due to the need for regular material oversight responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Execute tactics that drive operational excellence for the Company and develop capabilities as product moves from prototypes to volume production.
- Maintain global  inventory levels and accuracy and ensure conformance to processes to control such inventory (Kanban, pull systems, scheduling, etc.).  Participate in periodic physical inventory audits, report results, and implement any needed process improvements.
- Manage supply chain agreements for all direct material suppliers.
- Support the audit of global third-party manufacturing relationships.
- Support a Lean manufacturing culture and create/execute process and cost improvement projects.
- Execute process and cost improvement projects.
- Support the management of  plant materials, logistics, and purchasing.
- Work with freight forwarders, N.A. trucking providers and other Third-Party Logistics (3PL) -  Providers to ensure timely shipments and receipts.   
- Execute contracts for purchases (capital, materials, logistics).

EDUCATION  AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, finance, supply chain, or related field
- 3- 5   years’ experience in a global supply chain organization with preferred experience in high technology manufacture particularly in any roll-to-roll manufacturing organization.
- 2+ years’ experience in operating within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System or IATF 16949 Automotive QMS preferred.
- Experience in working in high performance Lean culture a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in Enterprise Resource Planning systems (NetSuite preferred) required and Warehouse Management Systems desirable.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to travel globally with an expectation of a minimum < 10% time spent traveling.
- Ability to act with integrity, respect, honesty, professionalism, and confidentiality.
